Vibe check

  • Neurodivergent-led business. Please come as you are; you are welcome here. Introvert and ND-friendly options are available. 🦄🧠🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

  • I champion change-makers, trailblazers, creatives and innovators behind heart-centred brands and projects. ❤️‍🔥

  • I'll empower you to leave your comfort zone and enter awards to gain exposure for your brand, business or startup, without a 'crush your competition' mindset. 👏🏽

  • You'll learn tips on entering awards as a Marketing Tool (not a wanky vanity strategy). 🛠️

  • You can rock up to our Zoom's being your sweary, hoodie and beanie-wearing self and there'll be no judgement. 🧑🏽‍💻

  • I've transformed my business into an anti-hustle and ND-friendly business model, working smarter and around my strengths, not harder, and you can too! 😊

  • I'm developing an accessible, lower-cost, self-paced online course for introverts, start-ups, side hustlers and online learning nerds (you can waitlist here) 💻

  • This business was created to eventually build capital to launch my future purpose-driven legacy:

Hive Village Project - forever homes for people and animals starting over after domestic and family violence (DFV) in Australia. 🏘️

Who am I?

I'm a sweary, tattooed; corporate drop-out turned Awards Writer and proud single mum of two based on Darkinjung Country (Central Coast, NSW).

After a decade of working in Admin roles for global organisations, I decided to live my life by design, give back and build something I'd be proud to leave behind.

After losing my Dad to suicide, and my Uncle and Grandfather to Cancer within an 18-month period, I became ever more determined to make the most of my life, which included reigniting my lifelong love of writing and giving back.

I also conceptualised my lifelong legacy - Hive Village Project and became a multi-published co-author and an award-winning Government Policy Consultant and Media Advocate in violence prevention and mental health.

Following continued interest from my peers to help them with writing tasks such as LinkedIn profiles and Awards entries, I leapt and opened Mel Wrote It in mid-2021. 🚀

Having written nearly 100 awards in my first year (solo), I've become an in-demand and multi-award-winning Award Writer and an international Awards Judge. 🏆

I'm proud to serve you as a Solopreneur rather than outsource to an agency or subcontractors, so you know I did when I say Mel Wrote It.

Eventually, I will build Mel Wrote It to a size where profits will assist me in launching a pilot site to help solve regional homelessness.

Vision

I've always wanted my business to be much bigger than a B2B Service, trading time for money without giving back.

Here's an insight into the direction of Mel Wrote It:

Short-term

To develop accessible online education and resources for introverts, side hustlers, and start-ups.

This will launch alongside my award writing services to serve those who don't have the budget (yet) to engage me to work with them or prefer to do it themselves.

By upskilling emerging leaders and innovators in how to enter and win awards, their causes can gain credibility, visibility and more opportunities.

Long-term

My ultimate vision is for Mel Wrote It to grow big enough to contribute toward launching my purpose-driven legacy - Hive Village Project.

The fastest-growing population group in Australia due to domestic and family violence (DFV) are women aged 55+.

As a DFV survivor, I will create survivor-led, universally-designed, inclusive, purpose-built villages with integrated support services in regional Australia.

The first cohort of residents will be women over 55 and their pets, starting over after domestic and family violence (DFV).
